Most cold messages fail before the other person even gets to your ask.

The message is too long, too vague, or sounds like a mass template. I used to do the same thing. What changed my results was using one clear formula every time.

Cold outreach has helped me get investor conversations, raise over $5 million, find amazing hires, and land interviews and offers at places like LinkedIn and Microsoft. It has also helped me meet people I never would have met otherwise.

## The Hypermessage formula

**Step 1: Keep it brief.**
Write 3 to 5 sentences, max. Your message should be easy to read in one phone screen so it feels fast to respond to.

**Step 2: Say exactly why you are reaching out to this person.**
Tell them why they are the right person for this question. This gives them context and helps them see where they can add value.

**Step 3: Show one point of weakness.**
Be honest about one thing you are still figuring out. People are more likely to help when your message sounds real and specific.

**Step 4: Add credibility in one line.**
Give one quick proof point that you are serious, such as your role, project, or relevant result. Keep this short and concrete.

**Step 5: Make it hyper personalized.**
Add one researched detail from their profile, post, or talk. One real detail beats generic praise.

**Step 6: End with a clear CTA.**
Ask for one specific next step, like one answer, one intro, or a 15-minute chat. Clear asks get clear replies.

**Step 7: Generate a first draft with Hypermessage.**
Use the skill to draft your message with the formula already built in. If you have a LinkedIn URL, include it so the workflow can pull details before drafting.

**Step 8: Humanize and customize the final draft.**
Before sending, edit it in your voice and make sure it sounds like you. You can run it through [Humanizer](https://mikareyes.com/ai/humanizer) to make it sound less like AI, then customize however way you want for tone and context.

**Step 9: Save winning messages for reuse.**
When a message works, save it in the `examples.md` folder that's packaged in the hypermessage folder. Over time, this gives you better examples for stronger future drafts.

> **Key insight:** The best cold message is not the smartest message. It is the easiest message to reply to.

## FAQ

### How do I write a cold message that actually gets a reply?

Keep it to 3–5 sentences and follow one formula: say exactly why you're reaching out to this person, show one honest point of weakness, add one line of credibility, include one researched detail about them, and end with a single clear ask. The best cold message isn't the smartest one, it's the easiest to reply to. Hypermessage packages this formula as a reusable Claude skill.

### Why do most cold messages fail?

They fail before the person even reaches your ask: too long, too vague, or obviously a mass template. The fix is brevity and specificity: a message readable in one phone screen, a real reason you're contacting that specific person, and one genuine detail from their profile or post instead of generic praise. One real detail beats flattery.

### What is the Hypermessage skill?

It's a Claude skill that packages a proven cold-outreach formula, the same one I used to raise over $5M, land hires, and get interviews at places like LinkedIn, so Claude drafts your message with the structure already built in. Give it a LinkedIn URL and it can pull details before drafting. You then edit it in your voice (optionally running it through Humanizer) and save winning messages to reuse.
