Every year, for the past 7 years, I look back & look forward using the same set of questions. It's an amazing time capsule. I get to look back and remind myself how much I've grown.
I also add and edit the template every year. This year, I'm going to add a "MISOGI" - extremely challenging task that defines your year.
Apparently the No.1 listed is "Do a marathon." (Not mine though). What's yours?
Annual reminder to go through reflections yourself, and annual PSA sharing my template (link in comments!)
Happy New Year and hope 2026 is your best one yet! ✨
Frequently asked questions
- What is a MISOGI challenge?
- A MISOGI is one extremely difficult task that defines your year, taken on as an annual challenge. A commonly listed example is running a marathon. The idea is to pick something hard enough that it marks the year and stretches you.
- How do you do an annual reflection?
- Use the same set of questions every year to look back and look forward. Reusing the template turns it into a time capsule you can compare against past years, and it's worth editing and adding to it each year as you grow.
