I worked in product at LinkedIn back in 2018, and it’s such a full-circle moment coming back to visit (& so meta posting about it on here) Last week, I got to eat lunch and tour the LinkedIn New York office. 🗽 Stepping into the office felt like entering a time capsule. LinkedIn was such a huge part of my early career. It was my first big job, and so many doors opened in my life because of the foundation I built here. I’m grateful for the opportunities this place gave me.. not just the people I got to work with or the skills I learned, but also the financial security it provided early in my career. That foundation gave me my start. It’s what allowed me to quit my job, start my own companies, and accelerate my journey toward becoming time rich. And let’s be real: I miss parts of the LinkedIn life. The free lunches, the espresso bar, never having to think about what to cook. That part of corporate life was pretty sweet. But there are also things I don’t miss: the lack of autonomy, the feeling that my calendar wasn’t really mine, and the sense that no matter how good the perks were, I was still trading my time and energy for someone else’s priorities. Back then, I didn’t realize it yet, but that was the start of me questioning: what does it actually mean to be wealthy? To me now, wealth isn’t just about salary or stock grants. It’s about being time-rich: Having the freedom to design my days, work on problems I care about, live anywhere in the world, and rest or work whenever I choose. Coming back reminded me how far I’ve come and how grateful I am for the role LinkedIn played in my story. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the stability, comfort, and the visa (yes the visa!) this job gave me. But I also wouldn’t be who I am today if I hadn’t chosen to leave, to bet on myself, and to build a life of freedom, ownership, and autonomy. From corporate perks to startup risks to now living a life that feels fully mine -LinkedIn was chapter one of my time-rich journey. Follow to see how those chapters unfold next... 🫡 View original post on LinkedIn.
