This is the No. 1 thing I wish I did much, much, much sooner as a founder and CEO... Work with an exec coach. For the longest time, I convinced myself I didn’t need one. - I could lean on my founder friends, my co-founder, my partner. - Coaching was expensive, and I thought I could find “alternative” ways to cope. - And honestly, I believed the hard decisions, the identity crises, and the constant mental hurdles were just part of the job. But last year, I hit a breaking point. I realized I couldn’t just muscle through it anymore & needed someone to help me work through both my identity as a founder and consequently, practical business challenges. So I bit the bullet and found a founder coach. But not just a therapist & not just a “general” executive coach. I specifically wanted someone who had been a founder themselves. Someone who didn’t just empathize but GOT👏 IT👏 and could push me both emotionally and strategically. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I wish I had done it years earlier. TAKEAWAY: The founder journey will always be hard—but it doesn’t have to be lonely. Having the right coach can give you perspective, clarity, and resilience you can’t always find on your own. If you’re looking for an awesome founder coach, I have an amazing one I’m always happy to refer! Just DM me. View original post on LinkedIn.
